James used to be a senior police officer in the City of London Police. In that role he was qualified as a "Public Order Public Safety" operational and tactical commander. He had the privilege to be part of the core command team for "Operation London Bridge", the policing of the funeral of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. He commanded 'Sector 5' which was also known as 'routes'. James' responsibility was ensuring the safe and secure movement of Her Late Majesty's coffin back from RAF Northolt to Buckingham Palace, and on the day of the Funeral from Hyde Park to just before Windsor.
As he commanded Sector 5, his callsign was "Bronze 5" abbreviated to "Bx5". When James had to come up for a name for his Mountain Leading business the small role he played in our national history seemed like as good a name as any (and a bit more intriguing than "James Morgan Mountaineering")!
As part of the Command team for London Bridge, James also had the privilege to be introduced to His Majesty King Charles III when he visited the Met Poiice's Lambeth HQ to thank the officers and staff involved in policing the period of official mourning leading up to, and including, the funeral.
